The GTA4294BS is the high-pressure turbocharger in the Caterpillar C15 Acert compound (two-stage) turbo system. On the Acert C15 the small high-pressure GTA4294BS sits in series with the larger low-pressure GTA5518B: the high-pressure unit spools fast for low-end response, the low-pressure unit handles top-end airflow. This unit fits the BXS, MXS and NXS engine serial prefixes; it does not fit the SDP prefix. Our GTA4294BS is built new to OEM-spec and balanced before it ships. Since the Acert system is serial-specific, we confirm your prefix and part number before the order leaves the warehouse. We supply repair shops, fleets and distributors with single units and bulk orders.

1998-13 Caterpillar Industrial, Truck, Various with C15 Acert Engine High pressure
The GTA4294BS is the high-pressure turbo in the Caterpillar C15 Acert two-stage system. It fits 1998-2013 C15 Acert industrial and truck engines on the high-pressure side.
It fits the BXS, MXS and NXS engine serial prefixes. It does not fit the SDP prefix. Read your engine serial before ordering, since the prefix decides the correct turbo.
Not always. If only the high-pressure unit has failed you can replace it alone. When mileage is high, many shops do both since they wear at a similar rate. We supply either side.
The matching low-pressure turbo is the GTA5518B. We can supply the high-pressure GTA4294BS and the low-pressure unit separately or as a set.
Yes, brand new with 100% new components, built to OEM-spec and balanced before dispatch. No core charge and nothing to return. One-year warranty.
Yes. We hold it in US stock and supply shops, fleets and distributors with single units or bulk orders, priced for resale.
The C15 Acert was Cat's first compound-turbo C15, and getting the right turbo means knowing which side you need and which engine prefix you have.
The Acert C15 runs two turbos in series. The GTA4294BS is the smaller high-pressure turbo that sits closest to the engine and spools quickly for low-end torque. It feeds into the larger low-pressure GTA5518B, which handles airflow at higher RPM. Both have to be right for the system to make rated power.
This high-pressure unit fits BXS, MXS and NXS engine serial prefixes. It does not fit the SDP prefix, which uses different turbos. Always read your engine serial before ordering an Acert turbo, since the prefix changes the part.

On the Acert system, check both oil feeds and drains and the crossover plumbing for restriction or debris before fitting. Prime the new turbo with clean oil. Sorting the cause of the old failure first protects the new unit and keeps the warranty valid. See our quality process for how each turbo is tested before dispatch.
